CURRENT STATE-OF-ART AND APPLICATIONS
CONCLUDING REMARKS
Current strategies for dissipating heat are becoming ineffective as the power density of modern microprocessors is steadily increasing. Innovative thermal control design techniques, such as heat pipes, are therefore gaining more attention from the industry.
In the past, heat pipes have extensively been used in aerospace technology. Applications to the other industries were slow due to the prohibitive cost of this technology.
However, this has been changed as a result of strong demand from the electronics industry, which is pushing the technology for new and cheaper manufacturing techniques.
